“Smooth” Textured Porridge

Image
Today my dad taught me how to make a smooth and yummylicious porridge. * have been craving for chicken porridge these few days.  Here is the method: 1) Wash and rinse the rice as usual. 2) Do not fill the pot with water yet because here is the trick ;p 3) Soak the rice with a teaspoon of oil (I used sesame oil because it’s the healthiest oil I have in my     kitchen XD) and sprinkle some salt for taste. 4) Mix them thoroughly and put them aside so that the oil + salt can blend well with the rice. 5) While waiting, you can prepare the ingredients such as, cut gingers into pieces, wash the      chicken(I'm using drumstick.) and cut them into cubes. 6) Once everything done, you can now pour in the water and the chicken essence (I’m using Hainanese Chicken Mix. This is optional as my parents used to cook some nice chicken porridge without the essence as well. Ajinamoto and salt will do the trick. XD), then mix everything inside and start to ...

Banana Smoothie

Just started to make one a few days ago when I was tired of eating banana in the traditional way. lol * means peel off the skin and makan begitu saja…XD. One thing that make me happy is, my dad was interested with the smoothie that I made. he said, “It tastes NICE!!!” * Before this my dad was afraid to try the smoothie due to his previous experience of mixing red bean beverage with oatmeal together that ended him in toilet for a few times LOL.  Too bad, it fails to attract my mom LOL. From now on, I will be making banana smoothie for both of us once I get back from work and before dinner. so that we can have it for desserts.  Ingredients: banana (amount as you wish) Low fat milk (amount as you wish) instant Oatmeal (Quantity as you wish) Blend the oatmeal and milk first. then only add in bananas and blend them together. Depends on the smoothie’s texture that you want. if you want to make it watery, you can add in more milk or put lesser banana, otherwise you can tu...

Oreo Cheese fridge cake as a birthday cake

Image
Both me and yen ee were raking our brains to find a birthday gift for Banana. Me, being the one who was so picky made our task harder as I want my friend here to have a special birthday gift =P. You see, I don’t simply give present to anyone and once I really plan to do so, I want that gift to be special. VERY SPECIAL! LOL. A few days ago, I got this sudden urge to make a fridge cake. I even got myself a chocolate fridge cake with peanuts and raisin last week. Well, the taste ain’t bad but definitely not the best. XD. As I was searching for more recipes, I came across this~ “Oreo Cheese Fridge Cake”. I checked out the ingredients and I guessed it won’t be that difficult to make one. Considering that you don’t need flour, eggs, baking powder, this and that which usually made your life harder. LOL. I told Yen ee about the idea of making an oreo cheesecake to Banana and she seemed thrilled as well. Me? I way too excited of course. XD. However, the main problem was I never cooked to anyo...

Lunch of the day ~ Jap. Egg Tofu

Image
I have been eager to try this out ever since I had my first scoop in UTAR canteen. It has been quite some time I didn’t cook my dishes with tofu; basically just getting tired of its taste. The reason might be because there was a time I had been having tofu as my main dish (steamed or boiled). I guess I was just too obsessed with eating simple and plain meals. (lol). Just to make my dish more wholesome and even more healthy, I added in carrots, egg and bean noodles thread with stock chicken and some black pepper. I also have added in a little bit of corn flour (quarter of my spoon) just to make the gravy texture looked more sticky or gooey. Finally, I served it with a fresh tomato (I never like cooked tomatoes as they taste weird to me.) Recipe: * 1 roll of egg tofu * 1 egg * 1 stick of red carrot * 1 small bundle of bean noodles thread * 1 or 2 table spoon of stock chicken * 1/3 of corn flour * onion and garlic (self-estimated) * Black pepper (optional, if you don't like ...

Ever since I have broken free from my irregular extraordinary high pressure days ~lol, I’m back with my cooking. XD Which means I start to cook my meals SERIOUSLY and not by simply boil some noodles and eat with paste without considering the nutrients. Maybe because recently I have watched quite a number of western movies that i got the sudden feel to try their cuisine. *Of course the very simple ones. XD Also, I think I had lay my eyes on potatoes these days that I used it as my main dish  for several days: Potato salad ABC soup Mushroom soup and today, I have tried to make mashed potatoes with gravy. The ingredients are: Potatoes * amount depends on how much you want. Just for my convenience, I bought one packet of potatoes from Tesco ~ Rm1.99 45oml low fat Dutch lady milk ~ Rm 2.99 Chicken flavor mushroom soup ~ Rm3.89 (optional, if you plan to make only mashed potatoes WITHOUT gravy, OR you prefer stock chicken instead, but it requires additional ingredients whic...

Potato Salad

Image
That! was my initial menu, to tell you the truth. I went to Tesco just now. While searching for something to munch, I suddenly got a desire to make potato salad. One thing that shocked me was, Tesco Kampar was crowded. It was way too many people especially for TODAY. (New Year) *Perhaps I have missed the fact that most people love to buy groceries during New Year. XD While walking inside Tesco, with a blue basket clinging on my arm, I was rummaging my brain for the ingredients of my potato salad. These are what I have bought: Small Potato (1kg) ~ Rm1.99 Thousand Island Dressing (250 ml) ~Rm4.65 3 punnets of Big red tomatoes ~ Rm1.23 Though it seemed I might have trouble waiting my turn to pay for my items, it turned out the other way round. Despite having so many customers buying lot of stuffs , it didn’t take me long to stand at the cashier waiting for my turn. Unfortunately, something else happened. “No Plastic will be Provided”. I should have brought my Tesco bag today. *...

Currently being obsessed with cakes. XD Simple and direct; Fridge cake means refrigerator cake. Have you guys ever heard of it? or anyone of you have eaten it before? Me? this is my first time hearing the name, let alone eating it. LOL. What to do? i'm not born in a family who loves bakery. *erhem..enough craps XD* The good thing about this type of cake is, you don't need an oven to bake it . Fascinating, isn' t it? Thanks to my course rep, who suddenly mentioned about baking a durian fridge cake without using an oven and i should thank myself as well for being able to eavesdrop her conversation with Banana XD. Home-made pancake XD

Have been discussing with Banana how to make a home-made pancake during our journey to IJN (INSTITUT JANTUNG NEGARA) from Kampar yesterday. You see, it was a 2 and a half hour journey together with growling stomachs. Therefore, You will easily thought about food. Ever since a few days ago, i started to feel tired of eating biscuits. Surprise, isn't it? The reason might be due to the fact that i couldn't afford to buy those biscuits that i love to eat, therefore i opt for those which are cheaper and with a typical taste. You might be wondering why don't i try to eat something else, chocolate or chips, perhaps? Well, i'm the kind who love to eat anything made from flour and and whitish in color. I know, this statement is very contradict to a person who is currently dying to shave off some fats . Therefore, bread, steamed bun (Mantou) with or without flavor are my favorites. From the conversation, little did i know that, it's actually very easy to make a pancake. All...
